The Hobbit House is a fantastical variation on the playhouse. It is an impressive and eye-catching design that is relatively simple in structure and is the perfect wooden playhouse for schools and nurseries.
The Hobbit House is based on the homes of the characters created by the bestselling children’s author JRR Tolkien and was most recently seen in The Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings movies.
In addition to our standard size Hobbit House, it can be made in a range of sizes to suit the space where they will be located.

Sturdy Construction
Because the Hobbit Houses are made from such sturdy wood, they can simply be placed on the ground. Their weight means they don’t have to be secured in place.
The Hobbit House is delivered and assembled on site by our staff. It needs to be located on solid, level ground, suitable for children to access. The sheer weight of the house holds it in place.

Made with Care
Every playhouse is made with a classic hobbit house design including a round window, round door and a grass effect roof, giving the impression that it is part of the natural environment.
Each Hobbit House is lovingly crafted from sustainable Scandinavian Redwood and treated with heat and pressure, rather than harsh chemicals. This allows the wood to withstand insects, the great British weather, and enthusiastic play!
You don’t need to worry about the children getting splinters – all the timber pieces used are sanded and smooth. Plus, many of our final products meet the national EN1176 safety standard.
We thoroughly check each one of our Hobbit Houses to make sure there are no gaps that fingers or toes could get trapped in and that there is nothing for clothes to snag or tear on.
As with all our crafted wooden furniture, the Hobbit Houses are made locally in our Burnley workshop. We build the sections of the Hobbit Houses separately and then assemble them in the playground.
