Children will love creating this home from home, or holiday accommodation that we at Discovering Days like to call ‘Buglins’. The Bug Hotel will attract bees, butterflies and many other creepy crawlies.
Whilst our photos show a completed bug hotel the furnishings are not supplied as we believe the best part is for the children to be involved in creating the living quarters for the insects and other critters using bricks, twigs, pipes or any other natural materials such as pine cones and dried leaves in Autumn that they can find. The photograph of the empty Bug Hotel is the one that is delivered.

The Bug Hotel should ideally be sited in a sheltered sunny south facing spot near vegetation in your garden area or forest classroom to attract the insects and creepy crawlies. Then let the children regularly check to see what has moved in, helping to teach them about nature and what habitat is best for each of the little creatures.
